Summary
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations- Planning Lifts (Construction) is the authorised vocational qualification for those who work in controlling lifting operations in the construction industry. Gaining this qualification allows candidates to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in a convenient way as you are not required to attend any classes or workshops; instead, an experienced assessor will be allocated to you to visit you on your site.
Entry
All candidates will need to complete an initial assessment before enrolment in which they must demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the qualification. This qualification is for Construction Operatives who are looking to obtain the Blue CPCS or Blue Competent Operator Card.
Assessment
In order to achieve this qualification all candidates will be assessed via OSAT (On-Site Assessment and Training), which will take place at our learners’ workplaces. This is an advantage as candidates will not be required to attend any classes, workshops, or take time off work. The number of site visits made by the assessor will depend on the experience, interest, and availability of the candidates.
The candidates will be allocated an expert assessor who will support them during the course and carry out all the necessary assessment procedures required in order to gain the qualification successfully. The complete process will consist of a range of communication methods and evidence collection processes tailored around the individua learner needs. Our assessors will support candidates in the process of gathering all the required evidence to assemble the essential Portfolio of evidence.
Duration
The duration of the course will heavily depend on the candidates’ interest, motivation, and availability. For NVQ Level 5, the minimum length of the assessments from the candidate’s registration to the actual achievement of the NVQ is within 1-24 months. Average completion for this course is 7-10 months.
Certification
The Awarding Body for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body. Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded:
Ø Level 5 Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations- Supervising Lifts (Construction) (QCF) valid for the lifetime.
Ø Blue CPCS Card valid for 5 years
You will require a valid CITB Health and Safety Test in order to obtain your CSCS Card. So, if you don’t have one or you passed your test more than 2 years ago please visit Construction Skills website to book one.
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
Summary
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice (Construction) is aimed at those who hope to develop their skills in managing health and safety for the workplace. This qualification is ideal if you’re responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day to day in your organisation. You may be a staff member, supervisor or manager looking to improve your skills and understanding.

This is a qualification that is specifically intended for experienced and working in supervisors, line manager, Health and Safety manager/director or staff who’s daily duties revolve around health and safety tin he construction industry. It is essential to hold experience, previously listed in order to achieve this qualification.
