Courses will be scheduled upon receiving a minimum of ten learners per session, and only 12 spaces are available per course.

Courses run weekday and weekends, so book in advance.

Courses will be delivered in-house but can also be delivered on-site.

First Aid at Work Level 3

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring a valid ID (passport, driving license, or ID card). This qualification is specifically intended for those who are allocated to act as a first aider in their workplace.

Assessment

This course is made up of both practical and theory assessments. The practical learning outcomes are assessed by observation. There is also a multiple-choice question for theory and underlaying knowledge. To gain this qualification, learners must pass all of the assessments carried out by the observation together with a percentage pass in the MCQ paper.

Duration

The duration of the Level 3 First Aid at Work course is 3 days.

Certification

Once your course is completed successfully, you will be awarded a nationally accredited certificate, which is valid for three years as well as an ID card and a training manual.

Emergency First Aid at Work - 1 Day Practical Training

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring a valid ID (passport, driving license, or ID card). This qualification is ideally suited to lower-risk workplaces, where a risk assessment has identified the need for staff to possess appropriate first aid skills and knowledge.

Assessment

The course will be assessed in two ways: there will be a practical assessment where learners will be assessed by observation, followed by a theoretical assessment, which is a multi-choice question paper at the end of the course. To gain this qualification, learners must pass all of the assessments carried out by the observation together with a percentage pass in the MCQ paper.

Duration

The duration of the Emergency First Aid at Work course is 1-day.

Certification

Once your course is completed successfully, you will be awarded a nationally accredited certificate, which is valid for three years as well as an ID card and a training manual.

Traffic Marshall

In-House Training
Entry

Traffic Marshal (Banksman) are operatives trained to direct vehicle movement on or around the site. They are often called Traffic Marshals. Completing this course will increase your chances of employment. Learners must be 16 or over and must bring a valid ID (passport, driving license, or ID card).

Assessment

The course will be assessed in two ways: there will be a practical assessment where learners will need to demonstrate the correct knowledge for directing a vehicle. The second part of the assessment is a theoretical assessment where learners will need to demonstrate their underpinning knowledge of the roles of both the Driver and the Banksman—followed with a multi-choice question paper at the end of the course. During the assessment, learners will be made aware of the Current Legislation (Safety signs & signals Regulations 1996). To gain this qualification, learners must pass all of the assessments carried out by the observation together with a percentage pass in the MCQ paper.

Duration

The duration of the Traffic Marshal course is half a day.

Certification

Learners who complete this course successfully, will be awarded a Traffic Banksman Training Certificate, Photo ID card along with an HSE approved Chapter 8 Hand Signals training manual.

Working at Heights

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring along a valid ID (Passport, Driving license, or ID card). There are no pre-requisites to enrol on this course; however, candidates must have the physical ability to carry out the procedures in this course.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed through a short assessment paper at the end of the course. Successful learners should leave with the ability to understand the main features and requirements of the Work at Height Regulations. Identify the factors that contribute to persons and objects falling from a height. Describe the control measures that control and reduce the risk of falls from height. Understand the proper use of access and work at height equipment and safe methods of access to reduce or eliminate the risk of falls.

Duration

The duration of the Working at Heights course is 1 day.

Certification

Learners who complete this course successfully will be awarded a Working at Heights Training Certificate and a Photo ID card.

Safety Harness

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring along a valid ID (Passport, Driving license, or ID card). There are no pre-requisites to enrol on this course; however, candidates must have the physical ability to carry out the procedures in this course. This safety harness training course is specifically designed for anyone who regularly works whilst wearing a harness or lanyard for support as well as those in need of fall arrest in their occupation.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed through a short assessment paper at the end of thecourse. Successful learners should leave with the ability to use harnesses and lanyards safely and with a comprehensive understanding of the different types available, together with the appropriate Health and Safety knowledge involved in Safety Harness and Lanyards training.

Duration

The duration of the Safety Harness course is half-day (typically 3 hours).

Certification

Learners who complete this course successfully will be awarded a Harness Training Certificate and a Photo ID card valid for three years.

Abrasive Wheels

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring along a valid ID (Passport, Driving license, or ID card). This course is suitable for people who use abrasive wheels or other grinding and cutting tools, including basic handheld or bench tools, or people who need a complete introduction to the equipment. It is important that learners should advise the tutor before the course starts on the kind of abrasive wheels, cutting, or grinding equipment their occupation requires so the tutor can tailor the course accordingly.

Assessment

The tutor will assess the learner through a short assessment paper at the end of the course. Successful learners should leave with the ability to use the equipment safely and productively.

Duration

The duration of the Abrasive Wheels course is half-day (typically 3 hours).

Certification

Learners who complete this course successfully will be awarded an Abrasive Wheels Training Certificate and a Photo ID card valid for three years.

Manual Handling

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring along a valid ID (Passport, Driving license, or ID card). This course is suitable for anyone who conducts manual handling in their occupation or individuals who wish to reduce their personal risk when handling.

Assessment

The tutor will assess the learners by a short written assessment at the end of the training. Successful learners will be able to execute handling techniques cautiously and efficiently, analyse a load and lift it correctly and gain knowledge on the impact lifting injuries have on businesses, regulations, and legislation.

Duration

The duration of the Manual Handling course is half-day (typically 3 hours).

Certification

Learners who complete this course successfully will be awarded a Manual Handling Training Certificate and a Photo ID card valid for three years.

Asbestos Awareness

In-House Training
Entry

Learners must be 16 or over and must bring along a valid ID (Passport, Driving license, or ID card). This course is suitable for or all trades, supervisors, and refresher training.

Assessment

The tutor will assess the learner through a short assessment paper at the end of the course. Successful learners should leave with the ability to identify the risks presented by asbestos, where it may be found, and how both staff and employers can minimise the risk of exposure.

Duration

The duration of the Manual Handling course is half-day (typically 3 hours).

Certification

Learners who complete this course successfully will be awarded an Asbestos Awareness Training Certificate and a Photo ID card valid for three years.

Prevent and Safeguarding Strategies

Level 2 Award
Entry

Anyone over the age of 16 who is interested in prevents and safeguarding strategies can undertake training. This course is suitable for anyone whose job role involves frequent or regular work with children and their families. This includes workers at all levels, including managers, supervisors, full-time, and part-time staff.

Assessment

Assessment for this course is electronic; learners will be given information that will include reading material. Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions in a workbook and submit their answers electronically.

Duration

Depending on the motivation of the candidate, the completion of this course is between 1 day- 12 months. The average completion time for this course is between 1-3 months.

Certification

On successful completion, learners will be given A certification from the awarding body ProQual.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Awareness

Level 2 Award
Summary

Each candidates’ competency completely evaluates the NVQ level 2 Award in Mental Health First Aid Awareness. This course is recommended for anyone responsible for developing or implementing day-to-day Health and Safety procedures. This course is also aimed at those working in all sectors as the course aims to develop the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of mental health issues.

Anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in mental health awareness can undertake the training.

Assessment

Assessment for this course is electronic; learners will be given information that will include reading materials. Learners will then be required to complete a series of questions and submit their answers electronically.

Duration

Depending on the motivation of the candidate, the completion of this course is between 1 day- 12 months. The average completion time for this course is between 1-3 months.

Certification

On successful completion, learners will be given A certification from the awarding body ProQual.

Mental Health First Aid Awareness

Level 2 Award
